Independent contractor at two separate private practices in
Charlotte, NC from August 2008 until October 2010. Primary care
optometry was the predominant form of care practiced at both locations,
with an emphasis on fitting toric and multifocal soft contacts and
various RGP lenses, treating dry eyes, treating walk-in conditions and
co-managing pre and post operative cataract and LASIK patients.
Proficiency obtained with the EMR program Exam Write.
Independent contractor in commercial optometry settings two national chain Centers in Miami, FL from
August 2007 until July 2008. The eye care consisted of primary care
optometry, with an emphasis on fitting toric and multifocal soft
contacts and RGP lenses. Proficiency obtained in Spanish only eye
exams.
Residency in ocular disease at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in
Miami, FL beginning July 2006 and ending July 2007. The residency
consisted of direct patient care in the primary care, pediatric,
neuro-ophthalmology, cornea, retina and glaucoma clinics, alongside
various ophthalmologists and optometrists. With an emphasis on
ancillary diagnostic test interpretation including: visual field,
fluorescein angiogram, optical coherence tomography, anterior
segment optical coherence tomography and corneal topography.
Weekly educational meetings included grand rounds, fluorescein
angiography review and journal club.
