Liberty Day was held at Oak Orchard School on March 30th with the 4th grade class. President John McElwain presented Assemblyman Dave Seaman to the class. Dave talked about his job in the Assembly and the role James Madison played in the formation of the US Constitution. Dave opened it up to questions, comments, and suggestions. They sure came up with some great comments. One wanted to know if they could increase the driving age to 30 before his brother turned 16. They were also in total agreement that they would like to see a Law requiring metal detectors in Schools.

The Board has approved Election of Officers for 2001-2002.  Lion President: Doc Mruczek;1st Vice President: John Bale;2nd Vice President: C. J. Woodruff;3rd Vice President: Robert Winters; Immediate Past President: John McElwain; Treasurer: Dave Kennedy; Secretary: Don Crandall; Tail Twister: John McElwain; Lion Tamer: Dave Bellucci; Membership: Dave Viterna & Michael O’Keefe;’1 Year Directors: Jack Beedon & Betty Hassall; 2 Year Directors: Jim Hancock & Steve Morse; 3 Year Directors: Howard Conroy & Dave Bellucci

The Environmental Cleanup Day is April 21, 2001 (Saturday) from 9am-1pm.  Lions Pet Huth and CJ Woodruff have lined up a program and will be working with area civic and Business Groups to ‘get the job done’. So far we have commitments from Canal Task Force, Rotary, Masons, The Boy Scouts, The Girl Scouts, Medina Business Association, Hartway Motors, American Legion, Medina School Teachers, and MAAC Church Groups.

Tickets are available thru Lion Dave Kennedy for N-SYNC.  $5 each for a concert on 6/10/01 at Ralph Wilson Stadium. Winner will get a pair of 200 Club Level tickets. As I understand this a real popular singing group among the younger kids. We need to get out and sell; this could be a big money raiser.
