--------------------Medina Lions MARCHED in two Parades this summer:  Lyndonville Lions hosted July 4th as celebration of 50 years Service with a parade, Chicken Barbeque and Buffalo Philharmonic Concert.   Lion ‘Doc’ rode the Tandem Bike with Bobby Guzik and Past President John McElwain will drive a float in the Parade.  They walked and tossed two cases of candy to the kids. Medina Lions Hosted Canal Festival Parade July 7th. They started the March on Park Avenue throwing candy to the kids once again.            

--------------------Your Officers held the Summer Board Meeting for 2001-2002 at Lion ‘Doc’ Mruczek’s Pool.  There will a speaker for each meeting and a board meeting to follow the first Tuesday meeting. . 18 meetings were scheduled along with 9 special events including Baseball with the Muckdogs and “A Chili Bake Off-Dinner” in the spring, 2002.  A full listing of the activities and leadership of Medina Lions can be found on the web page- www.medina-ny.com/Lions/ New activities only occur when New Ideas are tried.  If you have a suggestion, please email the club with your thoughts.

 

--------------------International President J. Frank Moore to Visit 20-E1 on August 30th, with all gathering to celebrate the 80th anniversary charter of Rochester Host Club.  Everyone is invited to celebrate the birthday of the oldest club in New York State and to meet and hear IP Moore.  The theme is “Light the Path’ for youth, membership, community awareness and leadership.  Howard Conroy and Doc have dinner tickets at $35.00 for the 5:30pm event at Four Points Sheraton, Rochester Riverside Convention Center.

 

 --------------------Tee Shirts are printed and will be available all summer at any activity. They are $10 (SML), $11(XL), $12(XXL) and $13(XXXL). Remember to wear our Medina Lions Logo when ‘We Serve’.

--------------------Family Picnic Lions Park on Tuesday August 14, 2001. RAIN or SHINE; we will have a tent to ward off the ‘sun’ or ‘showers’ as it may occur….  Buffet Style Picnic includes hot dogs and Soda. Please bring a dish to pass and your lawn chair. (5:50pm).  Remember to wear our Medina Lions Logo when ‘We Serve’. And, tell your caller to insure enough ‘eats’ are available.

 

--------------------Baseball at Dwyer Stadium on Thursday August 23, 2001; we have 50 tickets at $1.00 each.  Game time 7:05pm, Orleans County Day Buffet $9.00 (extra) sports hot dog/hamburgers, potato & pasta Salad, Baked Beans, Potato Chips, and Soda for one full hour before first pitch. (6:05pm).  Remember to wear our Medina Lions Logo when ‘We Serve’. Tickets will be available at the Summer Family Picnic and all unused tickets will be donated to the ARC on August 18th. 

 

--------------------Lions Peter Huth and Dave Bushover recently had surgery.  We wish them a speedy recovery and return to good health.  If you know of any Lion who might need a ‘get well card’ etc, notify your president.
