Dear Sir, I'm a U.S. Marine currently serving in Australia in support of East Timor. I'm in receipt of a Xmast card from a young third-grader by the name of Mr. Mark Grimes, who attends Oak Orchard Elementary School. Being a native New Yorker (White Plains, NY) I was curious as to where exactly Medina, NY is located - by the way, nice homepage. I noticed your guestbook and thought I'd take advantage of an opportunity to express my heartfelt thanx to your community and school sytem as well, for taking time to remember those who are far away and could not be with their loved ones during the holidays. I've been in the Corps 20 years and have yet to spend one Xmas with my parents. Although my regrets are many, I also have a responsibility to you and our nation. However, I respectfully ask that someone grant me a Xmas wish and contact the young lad and classmates to echo my sincere well wishes and gratitude. It's important to myself and fellow servicemembers who do appreciate the concerns and efforts others take to ensure some of us experience a smile or two. By the way, in response to the Xmas card, Australians pretty much celebrate Xmas as us Americans. As I close and the New Year come upon us, I wish nothing but the best of luck for the citizens of Medina. Your distant friend, Nick Feliciano GySgt, USMC

I have visited Medina and met with your Deputy Mayor and Code Enforcement Office about bringing a legal low power radio station to Medina. The power level would be sufficient to cover the entire village and some of the unincorporated territory immediately surrounding the village of Medina. If you have any thoughts or ideas about what you would like to listen to feel free to contact me at the e-mail address above. If I decide to bring my station to Medina it will include a music format, local news and information, local public affairs, weather, high school football and basketball games. Community participation and support from local businesses by advertising on the station will be critical to the success of this station. Please send your questions or comments. I will be more inclined to bring the station to Medina if you show genuine interest and support in this concept.

Hello Median- Just checking to see what is going on. This is a great web site. I want to say "Hello" to my Aunt Betty and to the Class of 1968. Sorry I missed the class reunion, but apparently no one could find me in Niagara Falls. I'm also looking for any information on the Olmstead Family in the area. If anyone has any information on my family history I would be glad to hear from you.

I am so happy to have found this site! I would love to say hello to all my friends of the past, co-workers from Medina Memorial Hospital and physicians who touched my life and my daughter, Kelly. She sadly passed away in 1991 after her long struggle of complications from her spina bifida. I have two more daughters now age 15 and 14 who were born in Texas, but the three of us have recently moved to California. I work from home-based office doing medical transcription....a great skill I learned at Medina Memorial....thanks to all the doctors for the training at MMH.....gave me a great career I could do at home and be home to raise my family. I would love to hear from anyone who remembers me.......e-mail me! With fond memories of Medina, I wish you all well there!

He was Phineas Phillips, born 1798, married Ziporah [nee] Zebrath. Their children were George P.,b.1823 [Frances C.] and Sarah. J.,b.1834 [James Brown]. There was a George B. who died in 1941. My great-grandfather Charles A. was born in 1842. He married three times, Mary Nolan, Ella Strickland, and Sabina Bennett Furlong. There children were John E.,b 1876, Caroline A.,b.1897, Mary [or Mamie],b.1881, and stepson William Furlong. If any of these people are your grand or great-]grandparents or your great [or2X] aunt or uncle then you and I are cousins a few times[!!] removed. This is a subject of great interest to me, I would love to hear from anyone! Best regards to all, Tom...........

I was born in Medina in Oct. 1955 and my mother taught at the high school. I went to kindergarten in Medina but we moved to Scottsdale, AZ in 1961. I've been back to visit because I have such fond memories of my hometown even though I was so little. I was in Mrs. Youde's morning kindergarten class and sat next to a cute guy named Scott. It's late and I'm rambling. I've enjoyed reading everyone's posts and am proud to be a small part of what sounds like a nice community.

When you move to the city you really begin to miss small town and being able to drive down the street waving to people in their cars and on the street because you know so many people. You also begin to miss important people like co-workers and bosses that mean so much to you. Medina really is a nice little community.

Medina, NY and Dr. Art Mruczek, Yours is truly an impressive website. I've wandered through the website twice now and was able to get a great glimpse of the community and locale. Thanks for a look at far Western New York which I hadn't seen before. Greetings from Central New York.

Who would of thought such a sleepy hollow town would produce such an "outstanding" web page. Good on ya Medina! Although my wife (Jeanne) and I are both natives of Lyndonville, we both look back fondly on Medina Christmas street lighting memories. If there is ever one connection to your community, that would be it. Especially as a child! I'm an engineer for Boeing now, and Jeanne is in the fitness industry. We would enjoy any correspondence from family and friends who still call Lyndonville and Medina home. (LCS Class of 86)
