I am trying to locate property for sale in and around shelby and medina. We are looking for 3 to 5 acres of land or more. We have seen one family modular at the end of Dunlp rd. but forgot to write down the realtor when we came up to visit. I have used 2 sites which have helped some!!!!!!

I moved from Medina in 1963 and have missed it ever since. My family has been in the Medina area since the 1800s. I still have lots of relatives there and would move back in a second if I could. I've been away from Medina since I graduated (1986), first Lockport and Buffalo, then Phoenix, now Colorado Springs. Although Phoenix was beautiful and warm, and Colorado Springs is even more beautiful, I miss Medina and I'm trying to get back there for good; just waiting for the right job opportunity. I've realized how special small towns are, especially for raising kids. I miss you all.

Hello, my grandfather Frank Kerwin and his siblings were born in Medina. He was born 30July1890. I am looking for
info on his mother's (Katherine)first daughter, May, who
drown in the Erie Canal on 30July1897.Last name may be MaGuire or Mcguire. I hope to visit Medina this summer to
research the Kerwin's. I found them in the 1892 Orleans
county census. May (or Mary) was age 11 at the time. She
choked on a quarter while riding her bike and drown in the
Erie Canal at the age of 16. She was born in 1881. I was
told she drown on Frank's 8th birthday. I am hoping to find
the article on microfilm in one of the local newspapers.
I am so glad to have found your website for info on Medina.
May has been a mystery to me. Especially the spelling of
her last name. Her mother, (my great-grandmother) was
Katherine Ryan who later married Cornelius Kerwin. She
had previously been married to a Maguire or McGuire and he
had died of the typhoid fever. I am curious about the
dates of her marriages also. Any help would be appreciated.
I will try to find out about an inter-library loan of
microfilm. I would love to spend a week or more in your
library! thanks

The book, which I promised my husband, Douglas Pike (both he and I are originally from Albion and spent many happy days in Medina and Lyndonville as teenagers), I would see to fruition, has now become a published reality. ARE THERE NIXONS LEFT IN THE AREA? i'm looking for anyone descended from joseph nixon, who settled in medina in the early 1800s, owned a "turning house" and later a brewery. his son or grandson was named alderson nixon (also listed in census records as addison; wife mahalla or mahilla). alderson was my grandfather's grandfather. anyway, my dad is 81 now, not in the best of health, and i'm trying to find photos of ancestors as a present for him. my grandfather left home when he was very young, and we have never even seen pictures of his father. please get in touch if you have any connection here. thanks!

I lived in Medina from 1944 until 1952 on South Ave. I went to the old Oak Orchard school from 1947 to 1952. My parents were Roy & Helen Shaw. A few of the friends that I remember that lived on the street with me are Shirley Metz, Donna Collara, Sally Schmitt.

Great finding and reading this page, Medina is still the Great Town I remember. I moved from Medina about 21 years ago when my wife excepted a commission in the Air Force.
